I just talked with the Public Relations office at Vandenberg. There's an aircraft based rocket launch on March 17, and a Minuteman III April 7, 2006. All dates are tentative and subject to change.
The airman I talked to said neither event is going to be a major viewing event, but there should be some Delta rocket launches later in 2006. We'll keep our eyes open for these.

PUBLIC TOURS TO RESUME
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. - Public tours of the base
will resume Sept. 11, after security issues shut down the
program for two years.
Public tours will be conducted between 10 a.m. and noon the
second and fourth Wednesday of each month - security conditions
and mission permitting.
People interested in the public tours must contact the Public
Affairs office (805-606-3595) and reserve a place on the bus
at least two weeks prior to the requested tour date. Anyone
10 years of age and older can attend, but they must be at
least 18 years old to tour without a guardian. No walk-ons
are accepted the day of the tour. Requestors must provide
date of desired tour, full name, social security number, and
the hometown of all people in the party.
Upon arrival at the Visitor Control Center near the Main Gate
of the base, only people on the reservations list presenting
two forms of photo ID, as confirmed by the Public Affairs
tour guides/escorts, are permitted on the Air Force tour bus.
The 30th Security Forces Squadron personnel will search and
screen all bags prior to participants being permitted to enter
the base.
