Nojoqui Falls is another of those exits, like San Juan Bautista,
that I wish I'd taken a lot sooner.
A day park just north of Goleta Pass near Solvang, this park
has great charm and a special hidden treasure.
A 15 minute hike at the end of the
road takes you to a vertical rock with a wonderful waterfall.
A trickle in the summer, dropping gently through moss, it grows
to a torrent during the winter rains.
But this park is more than a pretty
face. It has a large grassy area, playgrounds, and several group
picnic areas.
Take the Old Coast Road exit off
Hwy 101. Follow to Alisal Road. You can continue on Alisal Road
to Solvang, then cut through to Los Olivos along lovely country
roads.
