The garden area is in an inner courtyard. While nice year
round, they seem to be especially green and alive after the
winter rains had started. When these photos were taken we'd
had wonderful rains in December of 2001, but not much after
that. With the warm weather in this area, that made February
and March a great time to visit.
The gardens are surrounded by areas that were workshops,
living areas, and of course the church.
If you've seen my photos of the other missions, you know you're
going to see one of these shots. There always seems to be
a long protected walkway with doors opening onto it. At some
missions, the chapel is at the far end of the administrative
areas. Here, the church is across the gardens.
.Here you see a simple wooden cart, what almost looks like
a wooden handtruck and a bell. There are many snall displays
stuck away in passageways and make looking into every nook
and cranny a lot of fun.
