The first room is focused on the Chumash Indians that contributed
so much to the mission. In fact, they technically owned the
land according to one plaque. Not that they had any say over
how it was used. However, getting any decent photos was pretty
much impossible.
Here in the second room you can see some of the construcion
materials used in the building of the mission. Stone, pine
and sycamore were common materials.
In the third room you see an example of a missionary's bedroom
during the 1800s. Simple clothing, a bed, a writing desk,
and a few works of art. Though the telescope was a surprise.
In room number 5 you see some examples of the trades taught
at the mission. These included pottery, weaving, iron working,
and the candlemaking displayed in this case.
