Mission San Antonio de Padua
Home > Missions > San Antonio
Summary:

You can't get to Mission San Antonio de Padua by accident.

It's 30 miles west of HWY 101, and you have to get through the security gate at Fort Hunter Liggett first. But it's well worth the effort.

The good thing is that entrance is free. But you will need to show a driver's license, proof of insurance and registration to get a visitor's pass.

Military police take traffic laws very seriously and they can ticket.

As you drive toward the mission watch for elk, tank crossings and low flying helicopters.

Directions:

You can take either the G18 exit off Hwy 101 in Bradley or the G14 exit in King City towards Ft. Hunter-Liggett. Either way it's close to 30 miles to the mission.

I must have blinked in Jolon, because I missed it. There is a small market there.

Look for the entrance to Ft. Hunter-Liggett just south of Jolon where the road divides for the turn.
