Mission La Purisima

This Mission was the eleventh mission of the twenty-one Spanish Missions established in what is now California.   It was founded on December 8, 1787 by Franciscan Padre Presidente Fermin Francisco Lasuen.

Mision La Purisima Concepcion de Maria Santisima is now La Purisima State Historic Park.

15 different sites or buildings are explained on the guide.

Here's a view of the shops, quarters and residence building looking across the pasture.

There are many farm animals here that will interest children of all ages.

Monjerio, a small dormitory and cooking area for young women, is one of the first buildings on your way into the mission site.

 
 

An association of the California State Parks and Prelado de los Tesoros, a volunteer group, maintain work to promote and support the Mission.

There's a parking fee as you enter the parking area. There you'll receive a map and guide to the area.
