There's an inner garden area here as well, though not as surrounded by buildings as missions like Santa Barbara.

This photo shows the fountain and part of the Star Pine trees. I believe that's the church behind the fountain, and this would be the view when first coming out of the museum.

The Mission's first church was destroyed by fire . Since then it's been through earthquakes, a tidal wave and pillaging by a pirate.

Here you see the Shrine of Our Lady of Grace.

This is a olive press, seen next to the shrine above.

The warm weather of the Ventura area must have made the Spanish and Mallorcan Friars feel right at home. Perhaps this olive press most of all.

This area was one of the most fruitful and productive of all the Missions, and this garden was know for containing a rich variety of fruit trees.
