The first place to visit after the gift shop is the
mission museum. Here among other artifacts you see a
chalice and paten and a ciborium veil. A ciborium is
a goblet-shaped vessel for holding eucharistic bread.
A paten is a plate usually made of precious metal and
used to carry the bread at the Eucharist.
While simple in design, this cross says much. In contrast,
you see it next to a beautifully carrved chest of drawers.
This mission was the only one
to use wooden bells. You see one of them here.
