Photos on this site were shot with one of three digital cameras.
Nikon D70

The Nikon D70 has been designed to offer faster operation at nearly every level of performance, with the camera ready to shoot the instant it's turned on. Compressed NEF (RAW) files are processed and stored exponentially faster, making shooting in compressed NEF mode easier and more convenient than ever. It can shoot a rapid 3 frames per second for a continuous burst of 144 pictures (using the JPEG Normal/Large setting and a 256 MB CompactFlash card) due to improved buffer memory handling, faster image processing, increased memory card access speed, and greater system bus bandwidth.

Other features include:

  • Built-in Speedlight flash with auto pop-up
  • 1/8000 second shutter speed and a synch speed of 1/500 second for flash
  • Auto modes include Portrait, Landscape, Close-Up, Sports, Night Portrait, and Night Landscape
  • 25 Custom Settings allow you to personalize the operation of your D70 to match your shooting style or the demands of different shooting conditions
  • Shoot in any lighting environment with the D70's built-in creative lighting system and 3D Color Matrix meter with 1,005-pixel RGB Sensor
  • The D70 displays menus with simple or detailed information on a 1.8-inch LCD viewing screen
  • Choose from a variety of file formats, including Nikon's RAW mode (NEF), TIFF, JPEG formats or Nikon's exclusive compressed JPEG + NEF combination
  • ISO standard hot-shoe with safety lock
  • Optical viewfinder features high magnification, diopter correction, complete info display, and On-Demand grid lines to aid in composition
  • High-speed, high precision 5-area AF system with predictive focus tracking and Lock-on ensures quick response and sharp focus

Olympus 3030

. Olympus C-3030 Digital Camera
Features:

  • 3.3 megapixel sensor captures enough detail for photo quality prints at 8 x 10 inches and beyond
  • 3x optical plus 2.5 digital zoom lens with autofocus
  • Included 16 MB SmartMedia card holds 24 images at default resolution
  • Connects with Macs and PCs via USB port
  • Uses 2 proprietary lithium or 4 AA batteries (2 lithium batteries included)

I don't think you can beat this little camera for price, balance, and color control. A lot of people just look at the number of pixels when buying a camera. But except for digital zoom, having over 2 megapixels isnt' going to make a difference when you're putting photos on a web site.

This camera has great color resolution, is easy to hold, point, and shoot, and has only failed me once. That was when I shut the power off too quickly after taking a photo.

Drawbacks. A couple of pet peeves. Autofocus takes a long time, so you need to lock in the focus if you're taking a quick photo. It goes into sleep mode too quickly, then you have to wait while it wakes up, then you have to wait again autofocus. And last, the battery cover has a small latch that failed pretty quickly.

Nikon D100

Nikon D100 Digital Camera

  • Built around a 23.7 x 15.6mm RGB CCD, the D100 captures images with an incredible, film-rivaling 6.1
  • Pictures are amazingly detailed and color-rich, with resolutions up to 3008 x 2000 pixels
  • 3D Matrix Metering
  • 5 Area Dynamic Autofocus with Focus Tracking and Lock-on
  • Built-in Speedlight featuring D-TTL flash control capability + standard ISO-type hot shoe

This is a really sweet camera to shoot with. This is an SLR style digital camera that takes the normal Nikon AF lenses, but you have the convenience of a digital camera. Autofocus is almost instantaneous, the buffer will let you shoot around 5 photos before you have to wait for the write cycle to complete, and you can zoom to your heart's desire.

CorelDraw GraphicsSuite 11.

Even though Adobe Photoshop is the standard for image editing, I stil like my Corel PhotoPaint. It's easier to use, cheaper, and has a much more intuitive interface. I've always found Adobe user interfaces to be overly complex and counter-intuitive. For what I'm doing, the only difference I find is if I'm trying to replace a particular color, which I don't do on this site.
